Aftercare

Getting tattooed is only half the process—healing it properly is what keeps it looking good. What you do after your appointment makes all the difference.

KEEP IT PROTECTED

• Keep your initial bandage on for at least an hour.

• If SecondSkin was applied, leave it in place for 2–3 days unless told otherwise.

TAKING OFF THE BANDAGE

• Remove SecondSkin in the shower using warm water.

• Gently peel it off—take your time, don’t rip it.

CLEANING ROUTINE

• Wash with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.

• Use only your hands—no scrubbing tools or rough materials.

• A slippery feeling is normal (that’s plasma). Rinse it away to avoid buildup.

• Pat dry with a clean paper towel.

• Apply a small amount of unscented moisturizer.

• Continue this routine for around 2 weeks.

• Stay away from Neosporin, alcohol, and peroxide.

WATER RULES

• Showering is okay.

• Avoid soaking your tattoo completely.

• No baths, pools, hot tubs, or ocean for at least 2–3 weeks.

HEALING PROCESS

• Expect some peeling and minor scabbing—that’s normal.

• Don’t pick, peel, or scratch it.

• If it itches, lightly tap instead.

• Keep it moisturized, but don’t overdo it.

SUN EXPOSURE

• Sunlight will fade your tattoo over time.

• Once healed, protect it with SPF 30 or higher.
